You, me & the Sea
By Charmane Sharp

Remembering the the moment we stopped to cool off while driving around
Milos Island in Greece. Love the gorgeous papers by Mintay for my beach
vibe along with my favourite 2Crafty Chipboard which was Gessoed as
always before transforming it.

2Crafty Chipboard used…

Frame Louisa’s
Leafy Shrub set 3
12x12 Weathered Clock Face Frames
Moroccan Bits
Foliage set 1
Seashells set 2
Title- You, me & the Sea

Sitting the title on top of the Louisa's Frame gives it more definition.
Adding a seagull brings the beach aspect in from my photo. Both pieces
were coloured with my Prima Watercolours and the title was sponged with
Gesso once dry to tone done the colour.

I love the Leafy Shrub that looks like waves alongside my floral
composition. Along with a piece of the Foliage set that I cut down.
They were watercolored and sponged with a little Gesso. Seashell on
the right under a flower had Finnabar wax rubbed on with my finger.
This allows the details to still be visible.

Another piece of the Leafy Shrub set sits beautifully with my die
cut ephemera. Moroccan Bit adds some texture to the design. By
painting with watercolours you can m watch your papers perfectly.

A close up of one of the Seashells so you can see how wax rubbed on
darker on the outside and lighter in the middle highlights the design of
the shell. There is also another Foliage piece just over my photo.

Underneath my photo composition I placed the Weathered Clock
which I watercolored the roman numerals in a different colour to
the frame for contrast and representation of this moment in time.
Thanks for stopping by the blog and taking a look at my work.

Until next time...

Rainbow Garden Cards by Tania Ridgwell

Hello there!

Tania joining you today to share the first of my DT projects for August.
I have created a set cards.

2 Crafty Chipboard Used:

*Thin Square Stacked Frames
*Thin Hexagon Stacked Frames
*Photo Adornment - Element Set 3
*Flourish 2

I created each of my card bases using the beautiful Paper Rose "Rainbow Garden Quick Card Cardmaking Kit".

I coloured all my chippie pieces using a mix of Art Alchemy Indian Pink, Blue Lagoon and Jamie Rodgers Cherry Blossom Metallic Wax's.
To construct each of the cards I added either a Thin Hexagon or Square Stacked Frame or a half Element from the Photo Adornment set 3 chippie to each.  I also added a Flourish chippie to each.  I
then embellished them with paper doilies, die cut elements from the kit and paper blooms.

See each card below.

Thats' all from me today, I hope I have inspired you all a little with my Rainbow Garden Cards.
Until next time thanks so much for stopping by.

Double Trouble - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi everyone!
Laura back today to share another masculine layout I created of our sons!

2Crafty Products used:

Double Trouble
Tickets
View Finder
Moroccan Bits
6" Circle Revolution Frame
Aged Film Strip
Chevron Bits
Page Tab Set

I primed all the chipboard with clear gesso including the center section of the revolution frames.

I then covered the chipboard with a mix of lumberjack plaid, rustic wilderness, and scorched timber distress inks that I sprayed with water then allowed to dry naturally.  I inked the outer edges of each piece with the scorched timber ink also

I wanted to use the highlights of red from the awesome papers because Ty's bike he built was red and I love the highlights it provided and it made the title stand out.

let's go
by Robin Schelin

Hi everyone, welcome back to the blog. So happy you stopped by.

Who doesn't love a road trip, right?
As far back as I can remember, this has been my favorite mode of transportation!

   let's go

2Crafty chipboard on this layout:

Circle Stack

Foliage Set 15

let's go

Mini Chunky Funky Bits

AS always, Gesso first on those fabulous chippies!

Ok, so I used a LOT of circles on this layout. Once I got started I had to keep going. The Circle Stack has so many circle in it, and so many sizes, that you can go absolutely overboard with them. Which is what I did!

Up top here I painted the large circle with a blend of Yellow Red, Raw Sienna and Burnt Sienna Acrylic Paint to match the orange color in the photo. Inside the orange circle I added a circle that was from the Everywhere collection from 49 and Market.

The small circle was painted with a mix of Providential Blue, Nautical and Parisian Gray Chalk Paint. This was to match the blue in the photo. Inside that I placed a sentiment also from the Everywhere collection.

Here on the side of the photo I switched it around and Painted the larger circle blue and used an orange circle from the collection so that it would be opposite from the top. Then added a couple sentiments from the Everywhere collection.

I added in one of the foliage pieces from the Foliage Set 15 at top, tucked into the flowers. I painted the stems with Provincial Blue Chalk Paint and the buds with the same mixture I painted the orange circles with.

I also added in another piece of the Foliage Set 15 to the flowers on the left side of the photo.

More circles at the bottom of the layout. I mean, why not? I've gone this far! This one is the same as the top one. Orange circle with blue insert, and a small blue one with another sentiment from the Everywhere collection.

The title, let's go, seemed to perfect for this layout! I wanted it to really pop against all the color, so I painted it with Sheepskin Chalk Paint.

I also placed a couple piece out of the Mini Chunky Funky Bits here at the bottom and at the top of the layout, painted with Sheepskin Chalk Paint. These little pieces can be used just about anywhere to add a bit of texture.

Hope you like this layout.
I will be back in a few weeks to share more from our favorite chipboard company, 2Crafty!

'This is US' layout
Rachael Funnell

Hello everyone!
Rach with you all sharing my first layout for August,
this layout features Me & my hubstar & some great 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces..

2 Crafty Chipoboard used:
This is US (title)
2011
Fine word set - Months
6" dotted heart circle frame

Let's start with this title & the only chipboard piece I did any sort of treatment too really.
For this title - 'This is US' I inked it with the Tim Holtz - Dusty concord,
then with a paint brush dabbed over it with some white gesso....

Other than that the other chipobard pieces have been glued down raw, without any treatment..
This larger 6" dotted heart circle frame (Set of 2) still giving wow factor though..

AND of cource if you are a regular you know Im going to add the date & this time I
added September from the Fine word set - Months & 2011
I personally think sometimes just using the chipboard pieces & not adding anything to it looks
just as FABULOUS....

Thanks for stopping by
I hope I have inspired you in someway
Until next time!

'Love this Memory'
with Lisa Amiet

 Hello 2Crafty lovers!
It's Lisa here today to share some scrappy inspiration with you.

'Love this Memory'

2Crafty products used:

 'Half Floral Page Border'
'Lattice Leaves'
 'Mini Title Stick Set 5'

For this layout I used the 'Half Floral Page Border'
which I have tucked into the torn layers of my papers.

I have left my chipboard raw for this layout
because it goes so well with my papers.

I also used a few of the double 'Lattice Leaves'
also left raw and tucked into my torn paper layers.

I then used a couple of the single 'Lattice Leaves'
that I have tucked around the corner flower cluster on my page.

I then used one of the sentiments from the
'Mini Title Stick Set 5'
under the stick sentiment.

I really love how well this layout turned out
and I love the feel of the raw chipboard.

I will be back soon with some more to share with you.

Until then

Lisa

Live Your Best Life
By Charmane Sharp

Bringing the outdoor fun to life with a touch of whimsy for my photos
was easy with this Uniquely Creative Collection and my choice of 2Crafty
Chipboard. The Field Mushrooms are so cute to create a little scene with.

2Crafty Chipboard used...

Field Mushrooms
Flourish set 5
Elegant Hearts
12x12 Branches

After a light coat of Gesso I used Distress Paints in Ground Espresso,
Frayed Burlap, Peeled Paint and Bundled Sage to create texture and
layers of worn colour for definition. Just perfect to create my outdoor
scene and by using a neutral palette they stand alone amongst the
shades of purple.

The Flourish pieces add a whimsical flair and pop with their shading of
Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves Distress Paint sponged together
with a paint brush to achieve the desired result with some Picket Fence
White to finish on the ends.

Adding an Elegant Heart shows the love I have for my girls. I spritzed
Distress Seedless Preserves on to the heart and wasn't happy with the
colour so I flipped it over to the ungessoed side. Resprayed it and then
it came out the perfect colour. I heat dried it to keep its shape as it
becomes wet without Gesso.

Using the Branches under my composition reflects the trees in my
photos. Also adds to the outdoor vibe of the layout. I dabbed each
paint colour randomly over the Branches building on the colour.
This created a dappled finish showcasing the colours in the trees in
my photos.

Distress Paints really transformed the chipboard to coordinate
beautifully, even when using the neutral palette. I hope you have
taken some inspiration from my work. Thanks for taking the time to
view my creativity.

Until next time...
